The Holy Bible.

Pictured to the left is a copy of a version of the Holy Bible, known as the MODERN ENGLISH VERSION ( MEV ).  Matthew 6:5-15 read as follows:
"5 'When you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites.  For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners that they may be seen by men.  Truly I say to you, they have their reward.  6 But you, when you pray, enter your closet, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret.  And your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.  7 But when you pray, do not use vain repetitions, as the heathen do.  For they think that they will be heard for their much speaking.  8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what things you have need of before you ask Him.  9 'Therefore pray in this manner: Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed be Your name.  10 Your kingdom come; Your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.  11 Give us this day our daily bread.  12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.  13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.  Amen.  14 For if you forgive men for their sins, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.  15 But if you do not forgive men for their sins, neither will your Father forgive your sins.'"
Jesus ( see 4:23 ) teaches, here, that we, as Christians ( see Matthew 16:17, 18 ( especially verse 18, for example ), and Acts 2:38, 41, and 47; 11:26, for example, and please read all of Acts, chapters two and eleven, to get those immediate contexts ), are not to pray to be seen by men, as the hypocrites do ( as we read in verse five, above ).
