The Holy Bible.

Pictured to the left is a copy of a version of the Holy Bible, known as the New International Reader's Version ( NIrV ).  The following quotation is taken from this version of the Holy Bible:
"The Lord has blessed the New International Version in a wonderful way.  He has used it to help millions of Bible readers.  Many people have put their faith in Jesus after reading it.  Many others have become stronger believers because they have read it.  We hope and pray that the New International Reader's Version will help you in the same way.  If that happens, we will give God all of the glory.
This edition of the New International Reader's Version has been revised so that the gender language more closely matches that of the New International Version.  When we prepared this new edition, we had help from people who were not part of the first team.  We want to thank them for their help.  They are Ben Aker from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, Paul House from the Southern Baptist Seminary, and Scott Munger from International Bible Society."  [  See KiDS' DEVOTIONAL BIBLE, New International Reader's Version, Zonderkidz, Kids' Devotional Bible, New International Reader's Version, Revised, Copyright 1996, 1998 by Zondervan, p. xii.  ]
Isaiah 2:1-5 read as follows:
"Here is a vision that Isaiah, the son of Amoz, had about Judah and Jerusalem.  2 In the last days the mountain where the LORD's temple is located will be famous.  It will be the most important mountain of all.  It will stand out above the hills.  All of the nations will go to it.  3 People from many nations will go there.  They will say, 'Come.  Let us go up to the LORD's mountain.  Let's go to the house of Jacob's God.  He will teach us how we should live.  Then we will live the way he wants us to.'  The law of the LORD will be taught at Zion.  His message will go out from Jerusalem.  4 He will judge between the nations.  He'll settle problems among many of them.  They will hammer their swords into plows.  They'll hammer their spears into pruning tools.  Nations will not go to war against one another.  They won't even train to fight anymore.  5 People of Jacob, come.  Let us live the way the LORD has taught us to."
Isaiah 2:3 ( KJV; with center-column references ) has a cross-reference to Luke 24:47, for example.  Luke 24:47 ( NIrV ) reads as follows:  "47 His followers will preach in his name.  They will tell others to turn away from their sins and be forgiven.  People from every nation will hear it."  Luke 24:47 ( KJV; with center-column references ) has a cross-reference to Acts 5:31, for example.  Acts 5:31 ( NIrV ) reads as follows:  "31 Now Jesus is Prince and Savior.  God has proved this by giving him a place of honor at his own right hand.  He did it so that he could turn Israel away from their sins and forgive them."  Finally, Acts 5:31 ( KJV; with center-column references ) has a cross-reference to Acts 2:33, 36, for example.  Acts 2:33, 36 ( NIrV ) read as follows:
"33 Jesus has been given a place of honor at the right hand of God.  He has received the Holy Spirit from the Father.  This is what God had promised.  It is Jesus who has poured out what you now see and hear.  36 'So be sure of this, all you people of Israel.  You nailed Jesus to the cross.  But God has made him both Lord and Christ.'"
In Acts, chapter two, we read of the New Testament church ( see Acts 2:38, 41, 47; KJV, for example, and read all of Acts, chapter two, to get the immediate context ): the phrase "the house of Jacob's God," in verse three ( above ), is a reference to it ( the church of Christ - see Matthew 16:18, Romans 15:1-4 ( especially verse 4, for example ); 16:16, Ephesians 1:15-23 ( especially verses 22 and 23, for example ), and 1 Timothy 3:15 ( KJV, for example ), for example ).  Verse four ( above ) teaches that members of the church ( Christians - see Acts, chapter 11 ( especially verse 26 ) and Romans 12:3-21 ( especially verses 4 and 5, for example ), for example ) will "not go to war against one another."  Thus, Isaiah 2:1-5 does not teach that there will be complete world peace.  Jesus ( see Mark 9:36 ) said the following in Mark 9:50, "Salt is good.  But suppose it loses its saltiness.  How can you make it salty again?  Have salt in yourselves.  And be at peace with each other."  He made these statements to His twelve disciples ( see Mark 9:33-50 ( especially verses 33 through 35, for example ), for example ).  As Christians, we are to be at peace with each other, but complete world peace is not possible.  Please study the Holy Bible ( which is God's word - see Psalm 119:65-73, 142, 151, John 17:1, 3, 17, 2 Timothy 2:15; 3:16, 17, and Titus 1:1, 2, for example ).

NOTE: The copy of the version of the Holy Bible pictured above does not have many cross-references, therefore, cross-references from the King James Version ( with center-column references ), for example, have been used.  Additionally, religious denominationalism is not authorized in the Holy Bible ( see Matthew 16:13-17 ( especially verse 16, for example ), Romans 1:20 ( see Romans 1:20 ( KJV, for example; with center-column references, for example ) to get the equivalent translation for the word "Godhead" ), Ephesians 4:5, Colossians 1:9-18 ( especially verse 18, for example ); 2:8, 9, and 1 John 5:6-8 ( KJV, for example; with center-column references, for example ), for example ): this statement is made in reference to the religious denominations implied in the quotation provided near the top of this weblog posting.  Finally, the artwork of the children playing ( on the front cover of this copy of this version of the Holy Bible, shown above ) portrays them as dressed immodestly ( see Ephesians 6:4 and James 1:27, for example ).
