The Holy Bible.

Pictured to the left is a copy of a version of the Holy Bible, known as the New International Version ( NIV ).  Lamentations 2:1-14 read as follows:  "How the Lord has covered the Daughter of Zion with the cloud of his anger!  He has hurled down the splendor of Israel from heaven to earth; he has not remembered his footstool in the day of his anger.  Without pity the Lord has swallowed up all the dwellings of Jacob; in his wrath he has torn down the strongholds of the Daughter of Judah.  He has brought her kingdom and its princes down to the ground in dishonor.  In fierce anger he has cut off every horn of Israel.  He has withdrawn his right hand at the approach of the enemy.  He has burned in Jacob like a flaming fire that consumes everything around it.  Like an enemy he has strung his bow; his right hand is ready.  Like a foe he has slain all who were pleasing to the eye; he has poured out his wrath like fire on the tent of the Daughter of Zion.  The Lord is like an enemy; he has swallowed up Israel.  He has swallowed up all her palaces and destroyed her strongholds.  He has multiplied mourning and lamentation for the Daughter of Judah.  He has laid waste his dwelling like a garden; he has destroyed his place of meeting.  The LORD has made Zion forget her appointed feasts and her Sabbaths; in his fierce anger he has spurned both king and priest.  The Lord has rejected his altar and abandoned his sanctuary.  He has handed over to the enemy the walls of her palaces; they have raised a shout in the house of the LORD as on the day of an appointed feast.  The LORD determined to tear down the wall around the Daughter of Zion.  He stretched out a measuring line and did not withhold his hand from destroying.  He made ramparts and walls lament; together they wasted away.  Her gates have sunk into the ground; their bars he has broken and destroyed.  Her king and her princes are exiled among the nations, the law is no more, and her prophets no longer find visions from the LORD.  The elders of the Daughter of Zion sit on the ground in silence; they have sprinkled dust on their heads and put on sackcloth.  The young women of Jerusalem have bowed their heads to the ground.  My eyes fail from weeping, I am in torment within, my heart is poured out on the ground because my people are destroyed, because children and infants faint in the streets of the city.  They say to their mothers, 'Where is bread and wine?' as they faint like wounded men in the streets of the city, as their lives ebb away in their mothers' arms.  What can I say for you?  With what can I compare you, O Daughter of Jerusalem?  To what can I liken you, that I may comfort you, O Virgin Daughter of Zion?  Your wound is as deep as the sea.  Who can heal you?  The visions of your prophets were false and worthless; they did not expose your sin to ward off your captivity.  The oracles they gave you were false and misleading."  What we see, in this passage from the Holy Bible, is the LORD's anger at sin.  Please read all of Lamentations, chapter 2, to get the context.
From 1 Peter 2:9, we learn that God's spiritual nation consists of everyone who is a Christian ( see also Psalm 50:5, Acts 2:38, 41, 47; 8:26-40 ( especially verses 36-39, for example ); 11:26, Romans 6:1-4 ( especially verses 3 and 4, for example ); 15:3, 4, Galatians 3:26, 27, Hebrews 10:22, and 1 Peter 1:1, 2, for example ).  In short, God's spiritual nation is the New Testament church ( the church of Christ - see Matthew 16:18 and Romans 16:16, for example ).  False teachers will wrongly assume that the word "nation," in 1 Peter 2:9, is a reference to a physical nation, such as the United States of America.  However, there are a lot of unholy things occurring in America, such as the sin of homosexuality ( see Leviticus 18:22, Psalm 119:65-72, 142, 151, John 1:1, 14; 3:16, 17; 7:16; 8:26; 10:30; 14:6; 17:17, Romans 1:20 ( see Romans 1:20 ( KJV, for example; with center-column references ) to get the equivalent translation for the word "Godhead" ); 1:24-32 ( especially verses 26 and 27, for example ), Colossians 2:8, 9, 2 Timothy 3:16, 17, Titus 1:1, 2, 1 John 3:4; 5:6-8, for example ), for example.
Daniel 4:2, 17 teaches that the God is Most High, and that He is sovereign with regard to the kingdoms of men ( please read all of Daniel, chapter 4, to get the context ).  The book of Lamentations describes the destruction of Jerusalem in 586 B.C.  [  See Holy Bible, The New King James Version, THE NEW OPEN BIBLE STUDY EDITION, THOMAS NELSON PUBLISHERS, Nashville, Copyright 1990, 1985, 1983 by Thomas Nelson, Inc., p. 907.  ]  The statement "He has brought her kingdom and its princes down to the ground in dishonor," in Lamentations 2:2, should serve as a warning to the United States of America.  America was humiliated before the entire world at the 2014 winter Olympics at Sochi.  God is displeased with America, as a physical nation, due to the sin of homosexuality, for example.  President Vladimir Putin has the moral courage to condemn homosexuality, while President Obama encourages this sinful behavior.  Is it any wonder, then, that Russia finished in first place at the 2014 winter Olympics, while America finished second?  God hates wickedness ( see Psalm 45:6, 7, for example ).

The Holy Bible.

Pictured to the left is a copy of a version of the Holy Bible, known as the ENGLISH STANDARD VERSION ( ESV ).  Jesus said the following in Matthew 4:10:  '"Be gone, Satan!  For it is written, '"'You shall worship the Lord you God and him only shall you serve.'"'"'  This statement by Jesus condemns idolatry.
A list, of some of the false gods and goddesses mentioned in the Holy Bible, is as follows:  Artemis ( see Acts 19:24, for example; the Roman name "Diana" is used in Acts 19:24, for example ( KJV, for example; with center-column references )), Asherah ( see 2 Kings 17:16, for example ), Ashima ( see 2 Kings 17:30 ), Ashtoreth ( see 1 Kings 11:5, for example ), Baal ( see 2 Kings 21:3, for example ), and Milcom ( see Jeremiah 49:1, for example ), for example.  A Bible video ( associated with the following link ) is included for you, the reader, to view.  Please click on the link below:

The Holy Bible.

Pictured to the left is a copy of a version of the Holy Bible, known as the ENGLISH STANDARD VERSION ( ESV ).  Matthew 5:43-48 read as follows:  "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.'  But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven.  For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.  For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have?  Do not even the tax collectors do the same?  And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others?  Do not even the Gentiles do the same?  You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect" ( emphasis mine, R.E.W. ).  Jesus ( see Matthew 4:17 ), in the above-given passage from the Holy Bible, teaches that love of one's enemies is one way that a Christian ( see Acts 11:26, for example ) can be perfect ( see also Exodus 24:7, 8, Psalm 50:5, Psalm 119:65-72, 142, 151, John 1:1, 14; 3:16, 17; 7:16; 8:26; 10:30; 14:6, 17:17, Acts 2:38; 8:26-40 ( especially verses 36-39, for example ), Romans 1:20 ( see Romans 1:20 ( KJV, for example; with center-column references ) to get the equivalent translation for the word "Godhead" ); 6:1-4 ( especially verses 3 and 4, for example ); 15:4, Galatians 3:26, 27, Philippians 3:15, Ephesians 4:5, Colossians 1:28; 2:8, 9, 2 Timothy 3:16, 17, Titus 1:1, 2, and 1 John 5:6-8, for example ).  Therefore, not only is it possible for Christians to be perfect, in this imperfect word in which we live, but Jesus said we must be perfect, as our heavenly Father is perfect.

The Holy Bible.

Pictured to the left is a copy of a version of the Holy Bible, known as the ENGLISH STANDARD VERSION ( ESV ).  The following quotation is taken from this version of the Holy Bible:  "The English Standard Version (ESV) stands in the classic mainstream of English Bible translations over the past half-millennium.  The fountainhead of that stream was William Tyndale's New Testament of 1526; marking its course were the King James Version of 1611 (KJV), the English Revised Version of 1885 (RV), the American Standard Version of 1901 (ASV), and the Revised Standard Version of 1952 and 1971 (RSV).  In that stream, faithfulness to the text and vigorous pursuit of accuracy were combined with simplicity, beauty, and dignity of expression.  Our goal has been to carry forward this legacy for a new century."  [  See The HOLY BIBLE, ENGLISH STANDARD VERSION, CROSSWAY BIBLES, WHEATON, ILLINOIS, The Personal Size Reference Bible, English Standard Version (ESV), Copyright 2007 by Crossway Bibles, p. vii.  ]  Galatians 1:11, 12 read as follows:  "For I would have you know, brothers, that the gospel that was preached by me is not man's gospel.  For I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ" ( please read Galatians 1:1-12 to get the immediate context ).
The phrase "through a revelation of Jesus Christ," in Galatians 1:12, has a cross-reference to 1 Corinthians 2:10.  1 Corinthians 2:9, 10 read as follows:  "But, as it is written, 'What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him'-these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit.  For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God" ( please read all of 1 Corinthians, chapter 2, to get the context ).  1 John 5:6 reads as follows:  "This is he who came by water and blood-Jesus Christ; not by the water only but by the water and the blood.  And the Spirit is the one who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth" ( emphasis mine, R.E.W. ).
Thus, with all of the above-given passages from the Holy Bible in mind, the gospel that the apostle Paul ( see Galatians 1:1 ) preached was, in fact, the truth: it was not man's gospel, which involves false teaching.  A Bible video ( associated with the following link ) has been included for you, the reader, to view.  Please click on the link below:

The Holy Bible.

Pictured to the left is a copy of a version of the Holy Bible, known as the KING JAMES VERSION ( KJV ); being entitled:  The Scofield Study Bible.  Exodus 20:3 reads as follows:  "Thou shalt have no other gods before me."  The word "idolatry" is defined as follows:  "n.   pl.  -tries   1  The worship of idols. . . ."  [  See NEW ILLUSTRATED WEBSTER'S DICTIONARY Including THESAURUS of SYNONYMS & ANTONYMS, PMC Publishing Company, Inc., 118 EAST 28th STREET, NEW YORK, NY 10016, dictionary portion: pages 1-1150, Copyright 1992, by J.G. Ferguson Publishing Company, Chicago, Illinois, p. 481.  ]
The above-given passage from the Holy Bible, the first commandment, clearly condemns idolatry.  Jesus ( see Matthew 4:10 ) said the following to the devil ( the tempter - cf.  Matthew 4:3, 5, and 8 ) in Matthew 4:10:  "Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve."  Likewise, idolatry is condemned by Jesus' statement.
A fertility cult, an example of idolatry, is defined and described as follows:
"A general term for religions marked by rites which reenact a myth accounting for the orderly change of the seasons and the earth's fruitfulness.  Such myths often involve a great mother-goddess as a symbol of fertility and a male deity, usually her consort but sometimes a son, who like vegetation dies and returns to life again. . . .  Fertility cults attribute the fertility of the cropland and herds to the sexual relations of the divine couple.  Sacral sexual intercourse by priests and priestesses or by cult prostitutes was an act of worship intended to emulate the gods and share in their powers of procreation or else an act of imitative magic by which the gods were compelled to preserve the earth's fertility (1 Kings 14:23; 15:12; Hos. 4:14). . . ."  [  See HOLMAN BIBLE DICTIONARY, BUTLER, TRENT C., PH.D., HOLMAN BIBLE PUBLISHERS, NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE, Copyright 1991 Holman Bible Publishers, p. 484.  ]
Idolatry, the worship of false gods, is false religion.  Prostitution is a sin ( see Proverbs 5:1-14, Romans 15:4, 1 Corinthians 6:13-18 ( especially verse 18, for example ), Hebrews 13:4, and 1 John 3:4, for example ).  Anyone who engages in prostitution is practicing a form of idolatry, which is condemned in the Holy Bible: the Holy Bible is God's word ( see Psalm 119:65-72, 142, 151, John 1:1, 14, 3:16, 17; 7:16; 8:26; 10:30; 14:6; 17:17, Romans 1:20, Colossians 2:8, 9, 2 Timothy 3:16, 17, Titus 1:1, 2, and 1 John 5:6-8, for example ).  There is one true God ( see Deuteronomy 4:35 and John 17:3, for example ).
