The Holy Bible.

     Pictured to the left is a copy of a version of the Holy Bible, known as the King James Version ( KJV ).  1 Corinthians 6:9, 10 read as follows:
"9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God?  Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God."
The Greek word ( Greek [ 3120 ] ) for the word "effeminate," in verse nine ( above ), is defined as follows:

     The word "catamite," in the above-given definition, is defined as follows:

The word "pederasty," in the definition given immediately above, is defined as follows:

The word "sodomy," in the definition given immediately above, is defined as follows:
". . .  n.  Carnal copulation between male persons or with beasts. . . ."  [  Ibid., p. 916.  ]
     The word "copulation," in the definition given immediately above, is defined as follows:
". . .  n.  1  The act of coupling; also, the state of being coupled together.  2  Sexual intercourse."  [  Ibid., p. 221.  ]
Finally, the word "effeminate" is also defined as follows:
". . .  adj.  Having womanish traits or qualities; unmanly; voluptuous; delicate.  See synonyms under FEMININE. . . ."  [  Ibid., p. 309.  ]
The word "effeminate," therefore, is associated with the sins ( see 1 John 3:4, for example ) of homosexuality ( see Leviticus 18:22 and Romans 1:24-27, for example ) and bestiality ( see Leviticus 18:23 and 1 Corinthians 6:18, for example ).
     Moreover, one way in which effeminate behavior is manifested now is by the wearing of earrings, for example.  Although males wore earrings under the Old Testament ( see Exodus 32:2, for example ), we do not find any mention of men wearing earrings in the New Testament.  Thus, we can rightly conclude that under the New Testament ( which is now in effect - see Luke 23:26-49 ( especially verse 33, for example ), Romans 10:1-4 ( especially verse 4, for example ), Colossians 2:11-17 ( especially verse 14, for example ), Hebrews, chapter 8 ( especially verse 13, for example ), and Hebrews, chapter 9 ( especially verses 15-17, for example ), for example ), it is a sin for men to wear earrings, for example.  See also Psalm 119:65-73, 142, 151, Matthew 28:18, John 1:1, 14; 3:16, 17; 5:26, 27; 7:16; 8:26; 10:30; 14:6; 17:1, 3, 17, Romans 1:20; 15:1-4 ( especially verse 4, for example ), Colossians 2:8, 9, 2 Timothy 3:16, 17, Titus 1:1, 2, and 1 John 5:6-8, for example.  Please study the Holy Bible ( which is God's word - see 2 Timothy 2:15, for example ).

The Holy Bible.

     Pictured to the left is a copy of a version of the New Testament, known as the Recovery Version.  The following quotation is taken from this version of the New Testament:
"Throughout the centuries, translations of the Bible have steadily improved.  In general, each new translation inherits from previous ones and opens the way for later ones.  While a new translation derives help from its predecessors, it should go further.  The Recovery Version of the New Testament, following the precedent set by the major authoritative English versions and taking these versions as reference, not only incorporates lessons learned from an examination of others' practices but also attempts to avoid biases and inaccurate judgments.  This version, frequently guided by other versions, attempts to provide the best utterance for the revelation in the divine Word, that it may be expressed in the English language with the greatest accuracy."  [  See THE NEW TESTAMENT: Recovery Version, Living Stream Ministry, Anaheim, California, Copyright 1985, 1991 Living Stream Ministry, p. iii.  ]
Matthew 7:13, 14 read as follows:
"13 Enter in through the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter through it.  14 Because narrow is the gate and constricted is the way that leads to life, and few are those who find it."
     Jesus ( see Matthew 4:23 ) teaches, in verse fourteen ( above ), that the way that leads to life is constricted.  If someone were to ask you what religion is, what would be your answer?  Simply put, religion is the way you live.  John 14:6 reads as follows:  "Jesus said to him, I am the way and the reality and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me."
     Jesus is the way: He committed no sin ( see Matthew 1:16 and 1 Peter 2:21, 22, for example ).  Jesus is the reality: He said in Matthew 4:19, "Come after Me, and I will make you fishers of men."  Jesus is the life: He ( see John 5:19 ) said in John 5:24, "Truly, Truly, I say to you, He who hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life, and does not come into judgment but has passed out of death into life."
     What is the conclusion, then?  If you are pursuing a life of sin ( see 1 John 3:4, for example ), then you are pursuing false religion.  If you are not coming after Jesus, then you are out of touch with reality: you are pursuing false religion.  Jesus is true religion, if you are not pursuing Him you have no hope of eternal life.  Finally, Jesus ( see Luke 13:12 ) said in Luke 13:24, "Struggle to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will seek to enter, yet will not be able."  The way that leads to eternal life is constricted, and it will require struggle on our part: Jesus is that way.  Please study the Holy Bible ( which is God's word - see 2 Timothy 2:15; 3:16, 17, for example ).

The Holy Bible.

     Pictured to the left is a copy of a version of the Holy Bible, known as the ENGLISH STANDARD VERSION ( ESV ).  Hebrews 10:26-31 read as follows:
"26 For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries.  28 Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses.  29 How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has spurned the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace?  30 For we know him who said, 'Vengeance is mine; I will repay.'  And again, 'The Lord will judge his people.'  31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God."
The phrase "by which he was sanctified," in verse 29, has a cross-reference to Hebrews 9:13, 14, which read as follows:
"13 For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of defiled persons with the ashes of a heifer, sanctify for the purification of the flesh, 14 how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God."
Considering Hebrews 9:14 together with Hebrews 10:29, the phrase "the blood of the covenant," in this latter passage from the Holy Bible, is a reference to the blood of Christ.
     The Greek word ( Greek [ 37 ] ) for the word "sanctified," in verse 29 ( above ), is defined as follows:
"to make holy, i.e. (cer.) purify or consecrate."  [  See ABINGDON'S STRONG'S EXHAUSTIVE CONCORDANCE OF THE BIBLE, STRONG, JAMES, S.T.D., LL.D., ABINGDON PRESS, NASHVILLE, Copyright, 1890, by JAMES STRONG, MADISON, N.J., ( A Concise Dictionary of the Words in the Greek/New Testament with their Renderings in the King James Version, p. 5. ).  ]
Moreover, this same Greek word is also defined as follows:

Since one is sanctified by the blood of Christ, the following question arises, namely: how does one come in contact with the blood of Christ?
     A person comes in contact with the blood of Christ when he or she is baptized, in the name of Jesus Christ, by immersion in water, for the remission of his or her sins ( see Matthew 16:16, Acts 2:38; 8:26-40 ( especially verses 36-39, for example ), Romans 6:1-4 ( especially verses 3 and 4, for example ), Hebrews 10:19-25 ( especially verse 22, for example ), and 1 Peter 1:1, 2, for example ).  We see the absurdity, then, of the false claim that baptism is not necessary for salvation.  Specifically, if one has not been baptized, then he or she has not been sanctified, and if one has not been sanctified, then he or she has not been made holy or freed from the guilt of his or her past sins ( see Mark 16:16, Romans 3:25 ( KJV, for example ); 6:23, Hebrews 12:14, and Revelation 1:5; 2:10, for example ).  See also Psalm 119:65-73, 142, 151, Matthew 10:32; 11:15; 28:18-20 ( especially verse 18, for example ), Luke 13:3, John 1:1, 14; 3:16, 17; 5:26, 27; 7:16; 8:26; 10:30; 14:6; 17:1, 3, 17, Romans 1:20 ( see Romans 1:20 ( KJV, for example; with center-column references, for example ) to get the equivalent translation for the word "Godhead" ), Galatians 3:26, 27, Colossians 2:8, 9 ( KJV, for example ), 2 Timothy 3:16, 17, Titus 1:1, 2, and 1 John 5:6-8, for example.  Please study the Holy Bible ( which is God's word - see 2 Timothy 2:15, for example ).

The Holy Bible.

     Pictured to the left is a copy of a version of the Holy Bible, known as the MODERN ENGLISH VERSION ( MEV ).  James 1:19-27 read as follows:
"19 Therefore, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger, 20 for the anger of man does not work the righteousness of God.  21 Therefore lay aside all filthiness and remaining wickedness and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.  22 Be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.  23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man viewing his natural face in a mirror.  24 He views himself, and goes his way, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.  25 But whoever looks into the perfect law of liberty, and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this man will be blessed in his deeds.  26 If anyone among you seems to be religious and does not bridle his tongue, but deceives his own heart, this man's religion is vain.  27 Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction and to keep oneself unstained by the world."
In verse twenty-three, James ( see verse one ) teaches that anyone who hears the word, but does not do it, is "like a man viewing his natural face in a mirror."
     It is this concept of viewing one's natural face in a a mirror that is associated with the perfect law of liberty ( "whoever looks into the perfect law of liberty" - see verse twenty-five, above ).  Thus, the phrase "perfect law of liberty" is a reference to the word of God.  See also Psalm 119:65-73, 142, 151, Matthew 7:21-29 ( especially verses 24-27, for example ); 28:18-20 ( especially verse 18, for example ), John 1:1, 14; 3:16, 17; 5:26, 27; 7:16; 8:26; 10:30; 14:6; 17:1, 3, 17, Romans 1:20 ( see Romans 1:20 ( KJV, for example; with center-column references, for example ) to get the equivalent translation for the word "Godhead" ); 15:1-4 ( especially verse 4, for example ), Colossians 2:8, 9, 2 Timothy 3:16, 17, Titus 1:1, 2, verse 22 ( above ), and 1 John 5:6-8, for example.

The Holy Bible.

     Pictured to the left is a copy of a version of the Holy Bible, known as the MODERN ENGLISH VERSION ( MEV ).  Luke 14:7-11 read as follows:
"7 When He marked how they chose the seats of honor, He told a parable to those who were invited, saying to them, 8 'When you are invited by any man to a wedding banquet, do not sit down in a seat of honor, lest a more honorable man than you be invited by him; 9 and he who invited you both will come and say to you, '"Give this man the seat,"' and then you will begin with shame to take the lowest seat.  10 But when you are invited, go and sit down in the lowest seat, so that when he who invited you comes, he may say to you, '"Friend, go up higher."'  Then you will have respect in the presence of those who sit at dinner with you.  11 For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.'"
As can be determined from the context, Jesus ( see Luke 13:12 ), in the above-given passage from the Holy Bible, teaches a lesson on humility.
     Proverbs 15:33 reads as follows:  "The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom, and before honor is humility.  With this passage from the Holy Bible in mind, we see the significance of Jesus' parable.  Jesus used an observation regarding a typical life event, a wedding banquet, to reveal our natural tendencies as human beings.
     Specifically, when we find ourselves at public gatherings, for example, our natural tendency is to exalt ourselves in the presence of others.  In short, we want the honor without the humility.  The lesson of Proverbs 15:33, regarding honor, is the requirement that we first have humility.
     If, regarding our attitude in this life, we will first strive to "sit down in the lowest seat" ( as we read in verse 10, above - taken literally or figuratively ), then we will truly have honor.  Otherwise, we will suffer the shame of having to "take the lowest seat" ( as we read in verse 9, above - again, taken literally or figuratively ).  Please study the Holy Bible ( which is God's word - see 2 Timothy 2:15; 3:16, 17, for example ).

The Holy Bible.

Matthew 10:34-39 read as follows:
"34 'Do not think that I have come to bring peace on earth.  I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.  35 For I have come to turn '"a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law;  36 a man's foes will be those of his own household."'  37 'He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me.  And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.  38 And He [sic] who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.  39 He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.'"
Verse 39 ( above ) has a cross-reference to John 12:25, which reads as follows:
"25 He who loves his life will lose it.  And he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life."
     Matthew, chapter 10, begins with Jesus ( see Matthew 9:35 ) calling "His twelve disciples to Him" ( see verse 1 ).  The names of the twelve apostles are listed in verses two through four.  It was to these twelve men that Jesus spoke the words in Matthew 10:34-39.
     As Christians ( see Acts 11:26, for example ) today, we must understand that Jesus takes top priority in our lives, even over members of our own physical family.  Jesus said that if we love our father or mother, for example, more than Him, we are not worthy of Him.  Parents must also love Jesus more than their own child ( or children ).
     Finally, when considering Matthew 10:39 and John 12:25 together, Jesus ( see John 12:23 ) teaches that he who loses his life for His sake will find eternal life.  In the context of the two initial passages from the Holy Bible ( given above ), the demands of Christian living are not easy to meet.  Please study the Holy Bible ( which is God's word - see 2 Timothy 2:15; 3:16, 17, for example ).

Additionally, the word "politician" is defined as follows:

     The apostle Paul ( see Galatians 1:1, 2 and Philippians 4:21, for example ) wrote to "all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons" ( see Philippians 1:1 ).  He addressed the need for unity, for example, among the saints ( Christians - see Psalm 50:5, Acts 11:26, and Colossians 3:1-4 ( especially verse 3, for example ), for example ) there.  Each local congregation of the New Testament church ( the church of Christ - see Matthew 16:18, Romans 16:16, and Ephesians 1:15-23 ( especially verses 22 and 23, for example ), for example ) today must likewise strive for unity.
     However, how can there be unity in a local congregation if we, as Christians, encourage a partisan atmosphere?  If our motives are not with "godly sincerity" ( see 2 Corinthians 1:12 ), are we not rather behaving as political schemers or opportunists, as politicians?  Lowliness of mind is a requirement for unity in a local congregation of the New Testament church.  Esteeming oneself to be better than others is a sin ( see 1 John 3:4, for example ).  See also Psalm 119:65-72, Romans 15:1-4 ( especially verse 4, for example ), and 2 Timothy 3:16, 17, for example.  Jesus ( see Matthew 23:1 ) said the following in Matthew 23:11:  "But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant."

     Romans 3:23 reads as follows:  "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."  Because we all have sinned, we must all receive counselling from the heavenly Father ( see Matthew 5:9, 16; 6:9, 14, for example ): we need help with our sins ( see Luke 23:26-49 ( especially verse 33, for example ), John 3:16, 17, Romans 6:1-4 ( especially verses 3 and 4, for example ); 6:23, Hebrews, chapter 10 ( especially verse 22, for example ), 1 Peter 1:1, 2, and Revelation 1:5, for example ).  See also Matthew 10:32; 11:15; 16:16, Mark 16:16, Luke 13:3, Romans 10:17, and Revelation 2:10, for example.  Moreover, the law of the LORD's mouth is "better unto me than thousands of gold and silver" ( see Psalm 119:72 - please read verses 65-72 to get the immediate context ).  Thus, God's counsel is the best possible advice that we can receive.
     The heavenly Father counsels us that if we repent and are baptized, by immersion in water, in the name of Jesus Christ, we will have remission of our past sins ( see Acts 2:38; 8:26-40 ( especially verses 36-39, for example ), and Romans 3:25, for example ).  He counsels those of us, who are already Christians ( see Acts 11:26 and Galatians 3:26, 27, for example ), that when we sin we can repent and pray to God for forgiveness of those sins ( see Acts 8:5-25 ( especially verse 22, for example ), for example.  His counselling teaches us what to do in order to "LOVE LIFE, AND SEE GOOD DAYS" ( see 1 Peter 3:10 - please read verses 10-12 to get the immediate context ).
     The heavenly Father counsels us that we must: love our neighbor as ourselves ( see Matthew 22:39, for example ), love our enemies ( see Matthew 5:44, for example ), and "use hospitality one to another without grudging" ( see 1 Peter 4:9 ), for example.  To be sure, we receive counselling from Him every time we study the Holy Bible ( which is His word - see 2 Timothy 2:15; 3:16, 17, for example ).  Jesus ( see John 8:28 ) said the following in John 8:29:  "And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him."  Strive to be like Jesus and always do those things that please the Father.

Genesis 2:18-25 read as follows:

The Holy Bible.

Although you, the reader, cannot read the words on the cover of this version of the Holy Bible, they are the words of the Lord's prayer ( see Matthew 6:9-13 ), as follows:
"Our Father in heaven, let your name be kept holy.  Let your kingdom come.  Let your will be done on earth as it is done in heaven.  Give us our daily bread today.  Forgive us as we forgive others.  Don't allow us to be tempted.  Instead, rescue us from the evil one."
Concerning this prayer, it is no longer necessary to say, "Let your kingdom come." since the earthly realm of the kingdom of God is the New Testament church ( the church of Christ - see Daniel, chapter 2 ( especially verse 44, for example ), Joel, chapter 2 ( especially verses 28-32, for example ), Matthew 16:18, Acts, chapter 2 ( especially verses 17-21, 38, 41, and 47 ( KJV, for example ), for example ), Romans 16:16, and Ephesians 1:22, 23, for example ).
     Jesus ( see Matthew 5:1 ) said the following in Matthew 5:44:  "But I tell you this: Love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you."  As Christians ( see Acts 11:26, for example ), we are to pray for those who persecute us: we are not to repay evil for evil ( see Romans 12:17; RSV, for example ).  Finally, the apostle Paul ( see 1 Thessalonians 1:1; 2:18; and 5:27, for example ) recorded the following in 1 Thessalonians 5:17:  "Never stop praying."  Please study the Holy Bible ( see 2 Timothy 2:15, for example ).

The Holy Bible.

     Pictured to the left is a copy of a version of the Holy Bible, known as THEMESSAGE//REMIX: PAUSE: A DAILY READING BIBLE ( THE MESSAGE ).  Colossians 3:22-4:1 read as follows:
"Servants, do what you're told by your earthly masters.  And don't just do the minimum that will get you by.  Do your best.  Work from the heart for your real Master, for God, confident that you'll get paid in full when you come into your inheritance.  Keep in mind always that the ultimate Master you're serving is Christ.  The sullen servant who does shoddy work will be held responsible.  Being a follower of Jesus doesn't cover up bad work.  And masters, treat your servants considerately.  Be fair with them.  Don't forget for a minute that you, too, serve a Master-God in heaven."
Knowing what the Holy Bible teaches about the master-servant relationship will show us the truth ( see 2 Timothy 3:16, for example ) regarding the proper attitude and conduct in the workplace.
     To begin with, the servant does what his or her master tells him or her to do: the servant does not tell his or her master what to do.  Failure to do this is based either on ignorance, or a lack of respect for authority.  In the context of this passage from the Holy Bible, insubordination ( which indicates a lack of respect for authority ), for example, is a sin ( see Psalm 119:65-73, 1 Timothy 2:1-4 ( especially verse 4, for example ), and 1 John 3:4, for example ).  Titus 2:9 reads as follows:  "Guide slaves into being loyal workers, a bonus to their masters-no back talk, no petty thievery."  A servant who talks back ( "back talk" ) to his or her master may have his or her employment terminated.
     Secondly, a Christian ( see Acts 11:26, for example ) servant will not do just the minimum amount of work possible.  Such a servant will give his or her best effort.  If we all would understand that the ultimate Master we're serving is Christ, then we will work accordingly ( see Ecclesiastes 9:10, for example ).
     Finally, earthly masters must treat their servants considerately, realizing that they have a Master in heaven.  Ephesians 6:9 reads as follows:
"Masters, it's the same with you.  No abuse, please, and no threats.  You and your servants are both under the same Master in heaven.  He makes no distinction between you and them."

The Holy Bible.

     Pictured to the left is a copy of a version of the Holy Bible, known as THEMESSAGE//REMIX: PAUSE: A DAILY READING BIBLE ( THE MESSAGE ).  Ephesians 5:29 reads as follows:
"No one abuses his own body, does he?  No, he feeds and pampers it.  That's how Christ treats us, the church."
From this passage in the Holy Bible, we can see that smoking, for example, is a sin ( see 1 John 3:4, for example ), since it is a means of abusing one's body.  An increased risk of lung cancer, for example, has been linked to cigarette smoking ( see note below ), for example, and this is just some of the evidence which indicates that smokers abuse their own bodies.
     Moreover, smoking electronic cigarettes is also sinful.  The phrase "throat hit" is defined as follows ( as found on the website: http://ecigone.com/e-cigarette-basics/throat-hit/ ):
"Throat hit refers to the feeling you get when you inhale nicotine. While most people find this sensation fulfilling and expected when they smoke, it’s actually a form of mild irritation."
Thus, whether inhaling nicotine from a regular or electronic cigarette, such an act is the abuse of one's body. In the situation whereby an e-liquid with zero nicotine is used ( with regard to smoking an electronic cigarette ), the act is still sinful. 1 Thessalonians 5:22 reads as follows: "Throw out anything tainted with evil."  The act of smoking an electronic cigarette, in this situation, is "tainted with evil": the act itself is associated with negative implications.  Worded similarly, 1 Thessalonians 5:22 ( KJV; with center-column references, for example ) reads as follows:  "Abstain from all appearance of evil."  Therefore, God has commanded ( see Ecclesiastes 12:13 and 2 Timothy 3:16, 17, for example ) that we, as Christians ( see Psalm 50:5 and Acts 11:26, for example ), abstain from even the appearance of evil.  See also Psalm 22:22, 25; 40:9, 10; 119:13, 65-73, 142, 151, Matthew 28:18, John 1:1, 14; 3:16, 17; 5:26, 27; 7:16; 8:26; 10:30; 14:6; 17:17, Romans 1:16; 1:20 ( see Romans 1:20 ( KJV, for example; with center-column references, for example ) to get the equivalent translation for the word "Godhead" ), Colossians 2:8, 9, 2 Thessalonians 1:5-10 ( especially verses 7 through 10, for example ), Titus 1:1, 2, 1 John 5:6-8, and Revelation 2:10, for example.  Please study the Holy Bible ( see 2 Timothy 2:15, for example ).

The Holy Bible.

The second quotation is as follows:
"The Message is a reading Bible.  It is not intended to replace the excellent study Bibles that are available.  My intent here . . . is simply to get people reading it who don't know that the Bible is read-able [ sic ] at all, at least by them, and to get people who long ago lost interest in the Bible to read it again.  But I haven't tried to make it easy-there is much in the Bible that is hard to understand.  So at some point along the way, soon or late, it will be important to get a standard study Bible to facilitate further study."  [  Ibid., p. 9.  ]
     Hebrews 4:12 reads as follows:
"God means what he says.  What he says goes.  His powerful Word is sharp as a surgeon's scalpel, cutting through everything, whether doubt or defense, laying us open to listen and obey."
God's powerful word is able to lay us open, so to speak, with regard to our doubts or defenses.  The wording in Hebrews 4:12 ( THE MESSAGE ) is similar, but brief, in comparison to Hebrews 4:12 ( KJV; with center-column references ), which reads as follows:
"For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."  Please study the Holy Bible ( see 2 Timothy 2:15, for example ).

The Holy Bible.

     Pictured to the left is a copy of a version of the Holy Bible, known as the COMPLETE JEWISH BIBLE ( CJB ).  Ephesians 4:25 reads as follows:
"Therefore, stripping off falsehood, let everyone speak truth with his neighbor, because we are intimately related to each other as parts of a body."
God has commanded ( see KOHELET ( ECCLESIASTES ) 12:13 and 2 Timothy 3:16, 17, for example ) that we, as Christians ( see TEHILLIM ( PSALMS ) 50:5 and Acts 11:26, for example ), speak truth with our neighbor.

The Holy Bible.

I set out in 1977 to write a Messianic Jewish commentary on the New Testament; I wanted to produce a single book that would deal with all the 'Jewish issues' I could think of in connection with the New Testament-questions Jews have about Yeshua, the New Testament, and Christianity; questions Christians have about Judaism and the Jewish roots of their own faith; and questions we Messianic Jews have about our own identity and role in the light of two thousand years of separation and conflict between the Church and the Jews.  But I quickly discovered that much of what I was writing consisted of arguments with the translator of the English version I was using; they took the form, 'Our English version says such-and-such, but what it really means is so-and-so.'  The idea came to me to attempt my own translation of the New Testament from the ancient Greek original; then, obviously, I would have a version I agreed with, so I could focus exclusively on the subject matter.  I did a sample and was pleased with it.  Thus was born the Jewish New Testament (JNT), which was published in 1989.

     Ephesians 4:5 reads as follows:  "And there is one Lord, one trust, one immersion."  This same passage, in the REVISED STANDARD VERSION ( RSV ) of the Holy Bible, reads as follows:  "one Lord, one faith, one baptism."  Thus, the wording of Ephesians 4:5 in the COMPLETE JEWISH BIBLE ( CJB ) is very similar to that of the REVISED STANDARD VERSION ( RSV ), for example.

To you, the reader, the message is the same whether you read the COMPLETE JEWISH BIBLE ( CJB ) or the REVISED STANDARD VERSION ( RSV ), for example.  Salvation is only in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth: it is not in the name of anyone else.

NOTE3:  One day relatively recently, I made the mistake of placing my copy of the COMPLETE JEWISH BIBLE ( CJB ), as pictured above, on the top surface of the bed of my truck.  After closing the driver's-side door, my copy of the CJB fell from the truck bed onto the concrete driveway below.  That is why the bottom edge of its front cover is scuffed up a bit.  Sometimes lessons have to be learned the hard way.  It is better to have a book bag to carry more than one version of the Holy Bible at one time ( see Philippians 2:4, for example ).

The Holy Bible.

     Pictured to the left is a copy of a version of the Holy Bible, known as THE LIVING BIBLE ( TLB ).  The following quotation is taken from this version of the Holy Bible:
"This book is a paraphrase of the Old and New Testaments.  Its purpose is to say as exactly as possible what the writers of the Scriptures meant, and to say it simply, expanding where necessary for a clear understanding by the modern reader.
     The Bible writers often used idioms and patterns of thought that are hard for us to follow today.  Frequently the thought sequence is fast-moving, leaving gaps for the reader to understand and fill in, or the thought jumps ahead or backs up to something said before (as one would do in conversation) without clearly stating the antecedent reference.  Sometimes the result for us, with our present-day stress on careful sentence construction and sequential logic, is that we are left far behind.
     Then too, the writers often compressed enormous thoughts into single technical words that are full of meaning, but need expansion and amplification if we are to be sure of understanding what the author meant to include in such words as 'justification,' 'righteousness,' 'redemption,' 'baptism for the dead,' 'elect,' and 'saints.'  Such amplification is permitted in a paraphrase but exceeds the responsibilities of a strict translation.
     There are dangers in paraphrases, as well as values.  For whenever the author's exact words are not translated from the original languages, there is a possibility that the translator, however honest, may be giving the English reader something that the original writer did not mean to say. . . .

James 2:1-7 read as follows:
"Dear brothers, how can you claim that you belong to the Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, if you show favoritism to rich people and look down on poor people?  If a man comes into your church dressed in expensive clothes and with valuable gold rings on his fingers, and at the same moment another man comes in who is poor and dressed in threadbare clothes, and you make a lot of fuss over the rich man and give him the best seat in the house and say to the poor man, 'You can stand over there if you like, or else sit on the floor' - well, judging a man by his wealth shows that you are guided by wrong motives.  Listen to me, dear brothers: God has chosen poor people to be rich in faith, and the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs, for that is the gift God has promised to all those who love him.  And yet, of the two strangers, you have despised the poor man.  Don't you realize that it is usually the rich men who pick on you and drag you into court?  And all too often they are the ones who laugh at Jesus Christ, whose noble name you bear."
     As Christians ( see Acts 11:26 and James 1:1, for example ), we must not show favoritism: it is a sin ( it is against God's will - see 1 John 3:4, for example ) to do so.  We have been commanded by God ( see Psalm 22:22, 25; 40:9, 10; 119:13, 65-73, 142, 151, Ecclesiastes 12:13, Matthew 28:18, John 1:1, 14; 3:16, 17; 5:26, 27; 7:16; 8:26; 10:30; 14:6; 17:17, Romans 1:16; 1:20 ( see Romans 1:20 ( KJV, for example; with center-column references, for example ) to get the equivalent translation for the word "Godhead" ), Colossians 2:8, 9, 2 Timothy 3:16, 17, Titus 1:1, 2, and 1 John 5:6-8, for example ) to "show respect for everyone" ( see 1 Peter 2:17, for example ).  Jesus ( see Matthew 22:37 ) said the following in Matthew 22:37-39:  "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind.'  This is the first and greatest commandment.  The second most important is similar: 'Love your neighbor as much as you love yourself.'"  If we will do what Jesus said, we will not show favoritism.

The Holy Bible.

     Pictured to the left is a copy of a version of the Holy Bible, known as the New International Version ( NIV ).  Ephesians 5:11 reads as follows:  "Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them."
The word "democracy" is defined as follows:
". . . n.   pl.  -cies   1  A theory of government which, in its purest form, holds that the state should be controlled by all the people, each sharing equally in privileges, duties, and responsibilities and each participating in person in the government, as in the city-states of ancient Greece.  In practice, control is vested in elective officers as representatives who may be upheld or removed by the people.   2  A government so conducted; a state so governed; the mass of the people.   3  Political, legal, or social equality. . . ."  [  See NEW ILLUSTRATED WEBSTER'S DICTIONARY Including THESAURUS of SYNONYMS & ANTONYMS, PMC Publishing Company, Inc., 118 EAST 28th STREET, NEW YORK, NY  10016, dictionary portion: pages 1-1150, Copyright 1992, by J.G.      Political, legal, and social equality become sinful ( see 1 John 3:4, for example ) in various situations.  For example, members of society must not elect a homosexual to any political position, since homosexuality is a sin ( see Leviticus 18:22 and Romans 1:24-27, for example ).  Secondly, legal equality is sinful when judges issue judgments which attempt to justify same-sex "marriages" ( see Genesis 2:21-25 ( especially verse 24, for example ) and Matthew 19:1-9 ( especially verse 5, for example ), for example ), for example.  Finally, social equality is sinful when members of society attempt to justify homosexuality, for example, as an individual's "right," when the heavenly Father ( see Matthew 5:9, 16; 6:9, 14, for example ) has clearly stated in the Holy Bible ( His word - see 2 Timothy 3:16, 17, for example ) that homosexuality is a sin.
     It is clear that democracy is a sinful theory of government under certain circumstances.  As Christians ( see Acts 11:26, for example ), we must not participate in any fruitless deeds allowed by a democracy, rather, we must expose them.  Please study the Holy Bible ( see 2 Timothy 2:15, for example ).

The Holy Bible.

     Pictured to the left is a copy of a version of the Holy Bible, known as the New International Version ( NIV ).  Ephesians 4:25 reads as follows:
"Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one body."
The word "canon" is defined as follows:  "The word canon comes from the root word reed (English word cane, Hebrew form ganeh, and Greek form kanon).  The reed was used as a measuring rod, and came to mean 'standard.' . . .  As applied to Scripture, canon means 'an officially accepted list of books.'      The tests for inclusion of books in the canon are as follows:
"1.  Was the book written by a prophet of God?  'If it was written by a spokesman for God, then it was the Word of God.'
 2.  Was the writer confirmed by acts of God?  Frequently miracles separated the true prophets from the false ones.  'Moses was given miraculous powers to prove his call of God (Ex. 4:1-9).  Elijah triumphed over the false prophets of Baal by a supernatural act (1 Kings 18).  Jesus was '"attested to . . . by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him"' (Acts 2:22). . . .'
 3.  Did the message tell the truth about God?  'God cannot contradict Himself (2 Cor. 1:17-18), nor can He utter what is false (Heb. 6:18).  Hence, no book with false claims can be the Word of God. . . .'
 4.  Does it come with the power of God?  '. . . . The presence of God's transforming power was a strong indication that a given book had His stamp of approval.'
 5.  Was it accepted by the people of God?  'Paul said of the Thessalonians, '"We also constantly thank God that when you received from us the word of God's message, you accepted it not as the word of men, but for what it really is, the word of God"' (1 Thessalonians 2:13).  For whatever subsequent debate there may have been about a book's place in the canon, the people in the best position to know its prophetic credentials were those who knew the prophet who wrote it.  Hence, despite all later debate about the canonicity of some books, the definitive evidence is that which attests to its original acceptance by the contemporary believers.' (Geisler, GIB, 229)  When a book was received, collected, read, and used by the people of God as the Word of God, it was regarded as canonical.  This practice is often seen in the Bible itself.  One instance is when the apostle Peter acknowledges Paul's writings as Scripture on par with Old Testament Scripture. With regard to the word "council," there are two Greek words ( Greek [ 4824 ] and Greek [ 4892 ] ) for that word in the New Testament.  Greek word ( Greek [ 4824 ] ) is defined as follows:
". . . advisement; spec. a deliberative body, i.e. the provincial assessors or lay-court. . . ."  [  See ABINGDON'S STRONG'S EXHAUSTIVE CONCORDANCE OF THE BIBLE, STRONG, JAMES, S.T.D, LL.D., ABINGDON PRESS, NASHVILLE, Copyright, 1890, by JAMES STRONG, MADISON, N.J., ( A Concise Dictionary of the Words in the Greek/New Testament with their Renderings in the King James Version, p. 91. ).  ]
Greek word ( Greek [ 4892 ] ) is defined as follows:
". . . a joint session, i.e. (spec.) the Jewish Sanhedrim [ sic ]. . . ."  [  Ibid., p. 92.  ]
The word "council" does not appear in the context of Acts 15:22-35 ( neither in the NIV, nor in the KJV ( with center-column references ), for example ) and, thus, that word must not be used in this context.  Finally, you, the reader, can compare the information in this weblog posting with that of the Thursday, June 12, 2014 entry to get a better understanding regarding why the apocryphal books ( both Old Testament and New Testament ) are not canonical.

The Holy Bible.

     Pictured to the left is a copy of a version of the Holy Bible, known as the New Living Translation ( NLT ).  Matthew 20:20-28 read as follows:
"Then the mother of James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to Jesus with her sons.  She knelt respectfully to ask a favor.  'What is your request?'  he asked.  She replied, 'In your Kingdom, will you let my two sons sit in places of honor next to you, one at your right and the other at your left?'  But Jesus told them, 'You don't know what you are asking!  Are you able to drink from the bitter cup of sorrow I am about to drink?'  'Oh yes,' they replied, 'we are able!'  'You will indeed drink from it,' he told them.  'But I have no right to say who will sit on the thrones next to mine.  My Father has prepared those places for the ones he has chosen.'  When the ten other disciples heard what James and John had asked, they were indignant.  But Jesus called them together and said, 'You know that in this world kings are tyrants, and officials lord it over the people beneath them.  But among you it should be quite different.  Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must become your slave.  For even I, the Son of Man, came here not to be served but to serve others, and to give my life as a ransom for many.'"
Jesus ( see verse 20 ) teaches something in this passage from the Holy Bible that is "quite different" ( see verse 26 ) from this world's view of leadership.  According to this world, leadership means to be a tyrant, or to "lord it over" ( see verse 25 ) those over which one has authority.  Jesus teaches that a leader, in His kingdom ( the New Testament church, the church of Christ - see Daniel 2:1-45 ( especially verse 44, for example ), Joel 2:28-32, Matthew 16:18, Luke 1:26-38 ( especially verses 31-33, for example ), Acts 2:1-47 ( especially verses 14 through 21, for example ); 20:28 ( see Acts 20:28 ( NKJV; with center-column references ), where the equivalent translation for the phrase "of God" is "of the Lord and God" ), Romans 16:16, Ephesians 1:22, 23, and Colossians 1:18, for example ), must be a servant, and one who desires to be first, in His kingdom, must be a slave ( see verses 26 and 27 ).  See also Psalm 119:65-73, 142, 151, Matthew 28:18, John 1:1, 14; 3:16, 17; 5:26, 27; 7:16; 8:26; 10:30; 14:6; 17:17, Romans 1:20 ( see Romans 1:20 ( KJV, for example; with center-column references, for example ) to get the equivalent translation for the word "Godhead" ), Colossians 2:8, 9, Titus 1:1, 2, and 1 John 5:6-8, for example.
